LOCAL RITUALS: BEIJING'S HISTORIC HUTONGS
北京，这座曾经的帝王之都，随着时代的变迁，已成为一座现代化、国际化的大都市。
但当你漫步在某个四九城里不起眼的小胡同时，有时你会惊喜的发现一丝帝王将
相，王孙公子曾经来过的痕迹。它们就隐藏在寻常巷陌、百姓人家，只有旧的青
砖灰瓦，绿树红花还在讲述着当年的故事。

新国贸饭店由此推出的地道玩家之旅第二季，将带你来到什刹海区域一个窄小胡
同的入口处。沿着胡同一直往前走，就可以去到名声在外，游人如织的南锣鼓巷。
也许很多人会在熙熙攘攘的人群中对它匆匆一瞥，但也无法意识到有多少历史的
背影刚与他们擦身而过。
深入本地之帽儿胡同
帽儿胡同位于地安门外大街东侧。东起南锣鼓巷，西至地安门外大街。全长 585 米，
宽 77 米。45 号院曾是清代步军统领衙门所在地。此外，胡同内还有明代梓潼文昌
庙旧址、清代大学士文煜的府邸和花园、宣统皇后婉容的故居以及北洋军阀冯国
璋的住宅等众多文物保护单位。
婉容旧居位于北京东城区鼓楼南帽儿胡同 35、37 号的旧宅院，原为清末代皇帝溥
仪之皇后郭布罗·婉容婚前的住所，是婉容之曾祖父郭布罗·长顺所建。此原址
是较普通的住宅。婉容被册封为“皇后”后，其父封为三等承恩公，该宅升格为承
恩公府。作为“后邸”，加以扩建。西路四进院落。东路为三进院落。后院有假山、
水池，东有家祠。西路正房即为婉容所居。为北京市重点保护文物。
冯国璋故居（可园）位于帽儿胡同 11 号，冯国璋生于清咸丰八年十二月四日
（1859），卒于民国八年（1919）。字华符，河北河间县人。故居原是一组较大
规模的具有清代建筑风格的大宅，曾是清朝大学士文煜的私宅，又称“可园”。
建筑均用灰色筒瓦，墙面以清水砖墙为主，未刷白粉，较为质朴。厅榭等均为红柱，
长廊为绿柱。梁枋上作苏式彩画，但并未满铺，仅在箍头、枋心包袱位置加以装饰。
全园存在着明显的中轴线和正厢观念，布局疏朗有致，建筑精巧大方，山石玲珑，
水池曲折，且有多株珍贵的松、槐、桑等古树，整体至今保存尚好，是晚清北京
私家园林的富有代表性的作品。
深入本地之雨儿胡同
明代称“雨笼胡同”，东起南锣鼓巷，西至东不压桥胡同，南邻蓑衣胡同， 北
靠帽儿胡同。全长 343 米，宽 5 米。清代八旗值年旅衙门曾位于胡同北侧。著
名国画大师齐白石先生的故居就坐落于此。罗荣桓元帅、粟裕将军也曾在此居
住过。
齐白石旧居纪念馆位于北京市东城区雨儿胡同，齐白石旧居纪念馆是一座建于清
代中期的四合院建筑。1955 年在周恩来总理的关怀下，文化部拨款购买该四合院
并提供给齐白石先生居住。1957 年齐白石去世后，国家在此筹建齐白石纪念馆。

Although it’s the former home of emperors, with the changing of the times, Beijing has
become a modern and international city. It’s now a city of more than 20 million people,
but when you stroll through Beijing’s old hutongs, you can still find clues about this historic
place. They’re hidden down narrow alleys, in the homes of ordinary people and in the grey
tiles that make up a hutong’s old buildings.
Hotel Jen’s exclusive Local Rituals concept provides guests with the best-kept secrets from
a local resident – from boutique stores to cultural hotspots – all to be shown through the
hotel’s guided tours. As part of our Local Rituals ‘Historic Hutong’ tour, we start by taking
guests to the alleys near the Shichahai area. Here’s where you’ll find the mega-famous
Nanluoguxiang, always crowded with tourists, and where vendors sell trinkets and sweets.
How many of them stop to think about all the historic figures who have also wandered
down this now-bustling street?
Discover Mao'er Hutong
Just off the busy Nanluoguxiang, you’ll find the quieter Mao'er Hutong. Connecting to
Di’anmenwai Street, this little alley is 585 metres long and 77 metres wide. Located at
45 Mao'er Hutong, this now-quiet courtyard was once home to Commander Tuen Mun
during the Qing dynasty. There are tons of other protected cultural relics down this little
lane as well, including the former site of the Ming dynasty’s Wenchang Temple and the
residences and gardens of former Qing dynasty scholars.
At numbers 35 and 37, you’ll find the former residence of Empress Wanrong, China’s
last empress. When she was growing up here, the house was simple. After she was
married, however, the home was upgraded and expanded to include peaceful gardens,
which you can still explore today.
The construction of Keyuan Garden is a feat of architecture in itself – the garden’s brick
walls are made without plaster, which also give the feeling of simplicity inside the grounds.
Built in the late 1800s, this garden originally belonged to Qing dynasty scholar Wen Yu.
Although smaller in size, this garden is modelled after the famous Humble Administrator’s
Garden in Suzhou.
Discover Yu’er Hutong
During the Ming dynasty, this historic alley, Yu’er Hutong, was known as Yulong Hutong.
Also located just off the busy Nanluoguxiang, Yu’er Hutong is 343 metres long and only
5 metres wide. While famous military figures once called the hutong home, Yu’er is most
famous for being the former home of Chinese painting master Qi Baishi.
Qi Baishi Memorial Hall is one that art lovers won’t want to miss. Stop by the Qi Baishi
Memorial Hall, which was built during the Qing dynasty. In 1955, under the care of Premier
Zhou Enlai, the Ministry of Culture helped secure the funds to purchase and preserve the
courtyard. After the death of the famous painter in 1957, the memorial hall was opened
to the public and remains a popular place to visit for both art and history lovers, even
today.
